Partial-care horse boarding is a type of boarding arrangement where our facility provides some services for your horse while you are responsible for others. This option strikes a balance between full-service care and self-care, making it suitable for owners who want to be involved in their horse’s daily routine without taking on all responsibilities.

Responsibilities of the Owner

• Daily Care: You must provide all hay/feed for your horse, as appropriate.
• Supplies: You are responsible for purchasing, delivering, and maintaining your horse’s hay/feed, bedding, and all other supply needs.
• Health Management: You are responsible for managing and directing your horse’s veterinary, medication, and farrier needs with those professionals.

Responsibilities of Bragg Homestead

• Feeding: We will perform daily feeding of your horse per your defined feeding schedule.
• Water: We will provide constant access to fresh, clean water for your horse.
• Cleaning: We will clean your horse’s stall, replace bedding, and ensure a safe, healthy environment is maintained for your horse.
• Daily Turn-Out: We will turn out your horse to pasture each day for exercise and grazing. On request, we can walk your horse and provide light riding, if desired.
• Washing/Brushing: We will wash and brush your horse on an agreed upon schedule.
• Basic Health Checks: We will perform basic, routine health checks to look for obvious health needs or concerns and alert you and/or your veterinarian, as appropriate.

Contracts and Regulations

• Horse owners will sign a contract for a defined period of time, outlining their responsibilities, costs, and our facility rules before boarding their horse.
• While there are rules to follow and needs to meet, partial-care boarding is ideal for those who want to be involved with their horse when it fits their schedule, while benefiting from the facilities and daily care service we provide.
